STONE--Diane Lipson,

Per Lois Boillotat Cullen

1 August 1945 to 30 October 2017. A loving mother and generous friend who was resilient in overcoming obstacles. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University, Dr. Stone was the first woman named Chief Resident in Psychiatry at Columbia, in 1973. During a 40-year career in New York City, Dr. Stone treated veterans, the homeless mentally ill, and other vulnerable populations, as well as private patients. She is survived by her daughter, Emily Stone, and her brother, Lewis Lipson. Donations may be made to the Diane Lipson Stone, M.D. P&S '70 Scholarship Fund at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University (contact Laura Tenenbaum at 212-342-2108 or: lrt2113@columbia.edu
