I got an AB with a major in Physics at Oberlin College in 1965. My 60th college reunion is coming up in 2020. After that I got a Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University, in 1972. Then I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Muenster in West Germany, from 1972 to 74. After that I was a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Molecular Physics Department at SRI International in Menlo Park, CA, from 1974 to 1976. Then I changed fields becoming a Medical Physicist or Biomedical Engineer, working in Medical Imaging, starting off at Stanford University, 1976-1978. Then going to Xerox Medical Systems in Palo Alto, CA, to work in Medical Imaging, from 1978-1980. Then back to Stanford from 1980-1987. Then to Brookhaven National Labs from 1987-1990. Then to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN from 1990 to 2005, where I was an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering. I started my own company, Luminetx Corp. in 2001, which opened for business in 2004. I worked there from 2005 to 2008. Then I retired in 2008. The company was sold in 2009, from which I got the money I now live on. I met my present husband, Jeffrey S. Harwood in 2008, and we got married in 2016, when the Supreme Court made it possible. In 2016 we moved to Cincinnati so that he could get graduate degrees in Stage Management and Business Management for Theater. Jeff and I both sing in the Cincinnati Men's Chorus. He's a first tenor. I'm a baritone.
