Carole O'Brien (Flora)

Mrs. Carole Flora, 75, passed away peacefully February 12, 2020 at Southern Ocean Medical Center. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God provided her tremendous support and ultimately gave her peace. Carole was born to the late Eugene and Eleanor O'Brien in Teaneck, NJ. She grew up in Teaneck, NJ and was a graduate of Brick Computer Science Institute. Carole was employed at AT&T and Lucent Technologies on the Help Desk. Helping others in need and her generous spirit extended well beyond her work, and she was loved by many. Carole was a collector of deep friendships and loved to love her family above all else. Her adoring wisdom in conversation was no match for her warm smile and pure heart, and she provided many with a lifetime of comfort and happiness. She was united in holy matrimony to George Flora, Sr. for 42 years and their union was blessed with a large family. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her children: Michael Eagen and daughter in-law Victoria Connor-Eagen of Austin, TX, Christopher Eagen of Birmingham, AL, Dawn Eagen-Schneider and son-in-law Marc Schneider of Cumming, GA, George Flora, Jr and fiancé TerriLynne Shear of Waretown, NJ, Keith Flora of Waretown, NJ, as well as her stepchildren Vicky Van Dunk and husband Guy Van Dunk of Port Richey, FL and Kevin Flora of Freehold, NJ; her six grandchildren: Liam Eagen, Zachary Eagen, Justin Schneider, Finn Eagen, Brennan Schneider and DanikaLynne Flora, as well as many step-grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her lifelong friend and sister, Patricia Mayer and husband Bob Mayer of Westwood, NJ. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Monday, February 17, 2020 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 43 Madison Avenue, Lakewood. Interment will follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold Township. Vinnie Oakes

Was in homeroom with Carole grades 9-12. Didn't know her super-well, but enough to know that she was a very sweet and friendly person. I always admired her for those qualities.
